What to expect at a meet
Matches run most of the day. Each match puts two alliances of two teams on the field, and alliance partners are paired at random from the league. Every team plays about six qualifying matches over the day. Between matches, teams are back in the pit area fixing and tuning their robots, so the best time to catch us is around the field. Admission is free.

This season’s game: BIOBUZZ
BIOBUZZ is themed on bees, pollen, and a thriving planet. Two alliances of two robots each collect Pollen and Nectar, launch them into their Hive, and place them into Flowers. Fill a Hive cell and it tips, which scores points and unlocks more Nectar. In the last stretch of the match, alliances race to claim Flowers with their own Nectar.
Pollen and Nectar
Pollen are 3-inch plastic balls scattered on the field. Nectar is a second scoring element that gets unlocked as the match goes on. Robots need to scoop them up fast, sometimes several at once.
The Hive
Each alliance has its own Hive on a shared frame in the middle of the field. Robots launch Pollen and Nectar into the Hive’s cells. When a cell is full enough, the Hive tips over and the alliance scores.
The Flowers
Four Flowers sit around the field. Placing your alliance’s Nectar in a Flower first earns points, and whoever has the top-most Nectar in a Flower when time runs out owns it.
A match is 2 minutes 30 seconds. The first 30 seconds are autonomous, so the robot runs on code the students wrote with no driver input. Then two drivers take over for the last two minutes. The alliance with the most points wins.
